Boulevard Tank 7 Farmhouse Ale

Happy New Year!

Not too long ago Disney updated its standard beer menu. We’ve mentioned it on social media and updated our beer list with the new information (check out a page like Chef Mickey’s to see the new standard menu), but we haven’t really looked at the new beers yet. Some, like Lagunitas IPA, are completely new to Walt Disney World, while others such as Magic Hat #9 return to the menu.

Boulevard’s Tank 7 Farmhouse Ale falls into the former category. As far as I know, this is the first time it’s been served on property. Instead of the option of Budweiser Black Crown (one of the beers removed from the menu), Disney World’s now prepared to offer you a saison. I’d call this an improvement without even tasting Tank 7.

Named for what Boulevard refers to as the “black sheep of our cellar family”, Tank 7 weighs in at 8.5% ABV, which is pretty good for Disney’s standard beer menu. The saison is a hazy yellow with a large white head. Citrus, yeast, and a bit of pepper in the nose. Straw, lemon, pepper, light malt sweetness, a bit of hops all merge on the palate. Lighter bodied and slightly dry finish.

Just adding this beer to Disney’s standard bar menu greatly improves it. I’m told there’s a three year commitment between Disney and Boulevard, so hopefully we will see this one around for a while. When you’re sitting at a Disney World hotel bar or restaurant, this is definitely one to keep in mind.

Tank 7 is an excellent addition. It is my favorite beer made by Boulevard and I look forward to having one on my trip in February.

“an improvement without even tasting Tank 7”
You should remedy this situation immediately. Tank 7 is an improvement over any macro beer, and 98% of any micro. Enjoy!

I’m really glad I stumbled upon this page and this article! This beer looks & sounds like something I’d really enjoy!

Just to clarify, where do you find Disney’s standard bar menu? Would it be only at the resort lounges & pool bars or is there anywhere else it can be found?

The standard bar menu is mostly at the resorts, in both the lounges and restaurants. It’s the one that comes in the brown binder that’s longer than it is wide. The pool bars have their own different but standardized menu.
