Golden MonkeyVictory the Golden Monkey. Sounds like the newest member of The Muppets, right? Maybe if Estelle were writing this, we’d hear all about this imaginary Muppet, but you’ll just have to put up with me today and learn about the beer Victory Golden Monkey.

Victory hails from Downington, PA, where two friends decided to strike out on their own and start a brewery. Since 1996 they’ve operated the brewery and attached restaurant, brewing eleven year-round beers and eleven seasonal beers, including HopDevil IPA and Golden Monkey.

Golden Monkey Full BottleGolden Monkey is a Belgian-style tripel that weighs in at 9.5% ABV, a pretty hefty beer for the parks. And yes, Golden Monkey can be found in at least one Walt Disney World park (more on that later).

This golden-colored ale pours into the glass with a small white head. It’s a pretty complex-tasting beer; banana, pepper and spices, sweet bread, a bit of yeast. A slightly bitter, lingering finish with a bit of a bite. Medium carbonation and slightly syrupy.

So yes, Golden Monkey is a Walt Disney World beer! As of this writing, it’s available at the Block & Hans booth outside The American Adventure. This booth has single-handedly overhauled The American Adventure, making your trip around World Showcase much more palatable. It’s also available at several bars and lounges around the resort. Put this one on your list if you haven’t had it.
