Saint Arnold Divine Reserve #9

December 13th, 2010 by in Other Beer Reviews

Tonight, after a successful TweetWatch of Muppet Christmas Carol (thanks Ryan), I broke out a bottle of Saint Arnold Divine Reserve #9. The Divine Reserve series are limited edition single batch “big beers” from Texas’ oldest craft brewery.

This particular beer is an Imperial Pumpkin Stout and was purchased over a year ago.  I have kept some bottles of DR9 in the bottom of my pantry for the past year and I’m very pleased with how it aged.  It has a much smoother taste; the first bottle I cracked the night I bought my six pack was much spicier.  I’m not sure how you’d find a bottle of this today; the entire run sold out in a couple of days and was mostly sold in Houston.  If you can find it, however, be sure to get a taste.
