Abita Restoration Pale Ale

January 18th, 2011 by in Other Beer Reviews

Abita Restoration Pale Ale holds a special place in my heart.  It’s a good beer but the reason behind it is even better.  In 2005 Hurricanes Katrina and Rita barreled into the southeast and southwest coasts of Louisiana respectively.  With this beer, Abita raised over $500,000 for hurricane relief.  Since then it’s become a regularly produced beer and is currently one of the six included in the Abita Party Pack.

As a side note, Corey Martin, president of The DIS as well as a fellow LSU graduate who hails from New Orleans, posted this photo on Facebook from the press event held in the Magic Kingdom tonight.  I think the photo speaks for itself.
