Unibroue La Terrible

June 22nd, 2012 by in Other Beer Reviews

La Terrible is a brew from Unibroue that you won’t find at Walt Disney World. It’s also one of Kim’s favorites. Unlike most of Unibroue’s offerings, this Belgian Dark Strong Ale comes in a simple black bottle with silver markings. It also lacks the story or legend that accompany the other beers in Unibroue’s lineup. This one’s all about the ale within.

La Terrible pours nearly pitch black with a large tan head. It has a clean sweet scent with some dark fruit in there. The taste is full of dark fruits and malts that goes well with the syrupy texture. It also has quite a bit of carbonation. I’m really enjoying this fine ale.

At 10.5% ABV, this one will get you nice and toasty just with one 750ml bottle. Disney should pick up a bunch of these bottles (since it’s bottle conditioned) and serve them at Epcot International Food and Wine Festival this year. There’s probably less than a 1% chance of that happening though. La Terrible would be a fine addition to the (presumable) Canada booth for 2012.
