Lagunitas Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’ Ale
May 29th, 2012 by Jenn in Other Beer Reviews
As I was composing a few other beer reviews (yay for multi-tasking!), I realized that I had never finished my review from awhile back of Lagunitas Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’ Ale! So let’s get this out of the way, shall we?
After looking at the huge beer menu at the restaurant we were at in NYC, the Sumpin’ jumped out at me. First, I knew Katie was a huge Lagunitas fan so I kinda wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Second, I was too overwhelmed with the choices so I picked the one that first caught my eye. And seriously, how could a beer called ‘Sumpin Sumpin’ NOT catch your eye??
From the Lagunitas site, “Sneaky Smooth with a Touch of What We Call Wheatly-esque-ish-ness. Crispy Wheat and Pale Malt flavors with a Big Round & Juicy Hop Finish. Everyone Needs A Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’ Sometimes.”
Couldn’t have described it better. 🙂 Luckily I tasted absolutely no hint of cat pee (see Katie’s review here). Definitely had a wheaty-ish-ness to it, nice and crisp, not too hoppy. Just enough hop to get you hoppy. I’m a huge fan of wheat beers but this wasn’t in-your-face wheat. Even the wheat beer haters will probably enjoy this. Slightly fruity but not overpowering whatsoever. Completely refreshing on a hot summer day. Which is good, since it’s Memorial Day weekend and all….
Hmm..after writing this review I’m totally jonseing for a little sumpin’ sumpin’…
