Westbend Winery AND Brewery

March 12th, 2013 by in Beer Culture, Beer Ingredients, Other Beer Reviews

I think you all should come to NC.

1. I’m here. So…

and 2. There are a ton of wineries!

Now, this is not a wine blog. Believe me, sometimes I wish it were. But that’s okay, maybe one day. Scott?

Anyway, the best thing about one of the best Yadkin Valley wineries is that it is a brewery and taproom, too.

I know, I know, but you haven’t died and gone to Heaven like I thought I did. You’re still alive! And you should come visit.

Westbend Vineyards is a midsize winery in the Yadkin Valley located here:

It is absolutely one of my favorite wineries in the area because it is close to home and has an amazing outdoor patio where you can sit and enjoy the Carolina blue skies all day. They also have great live music, events, snacks and now… a freaking brewery.

After our wine tasting and this flight I was feeling pretty darn happy about my choice to experience this place, believe me. I tried the English ale, the pale ale, the IPA, the stout and the seasonal winter beer. They were all great!

Someone once told me if the foam laces the glass like that, it means it is a great beer. Hmm. I’ll go with it.

$.50 cent snacks as you taste were yummy too!

Their seasonal winter ale was unbelievable. Solidly one of the best beers I’ve ever had. You could literally smell the warm winter spices but it wasn’t overpowering, perfectly hoppy and a decent ABV. Did I get a growler for the patio?

Yes, yes I did.

Did I end up drunk at an Outback Steakhouse?

Yes, yes I did..

But that is neither here nor there…

Come visit! And I’ll take you on a tour of Westbend Vineyards and Brewery. And if you’re lucky to an Outback.

xoxo,

Your NC Lush
