Another few days have gone by and we’ve had another exciting round with two close matches! First, your comments from the last few days.
Greg wants an all-IPA championship! Does he get his wish?
ALL IPA FINAL ROUND @beersandears this is like the SEC playing the SEC

John has threatened table flipping if Jai Alai doesn’t advance! This tweet was retweeted by Cigar City and a couple of others, did it help?
Final Four time! Vote Jai Alai at http://t.co/EZ3bQ89Pfp Don't make me get in on this table flipping business! @CigarCityBeer @beersandears

Lots of you are (or have suddenly become) fans of Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA…
In better news – baseball! And Dogfish 90 made it through the latest round of @beersandears competition! #thanksduffy

I'm now Team Dogfish 90min for @beersandears because it's awesome, but it's not a beer I associate w/Disney & had to look up where it's sold
— The Redhead (@TheWickedWench) March 31, 2014
…but not all of you!
@beersandears going to harass my friends for the sole goal of dogfish 90 losing. I have no other purpose. None.

Don’t worry, Three Philosophers has its fans as well.
@beersandears Down to the final four. Ommegang Three Philosophers all the way for the upset! #DisneyBeer2014

Can you guess how @dcnesq voted? We don’t know for sure, but we have an idea.
Ommegang from a Chimay glass. That's ok, right? @beersandears pic.twitter.com/Ee2K2Ozovd

Ronnie here was introduced to Jai Alai at Disney World!
@beersandears Random, was introduced to @CigarCityBeer Jai Lai IPA at Bellvue Lounge a few months back, quickly became my favorite pour.

Anyway, on with the results! We’re holding the full bracket until the end again, because we had two tight matches!
First, the left side of the bracket was tied at 7:00 PM EDT! That means we’ll do our first coin toss of the tournament. Last year we had coin tosses in three rounds of the tournament; it’s surprising that we’ve made it this far without one.
And the winner is…
Ommegang Three Philosophers!
On the right side of the bracket, the two beers were nearly evenly matched as well. Both one seeds, Cigar City Jai Alai IPA and Chimay Blue battled it out throughout the match, but when the final bell rang we had a winner.
Only eight votes separated these two, but the winner is…
Cigar City Jai Alai IPA!
This means you now have one very important decision to make. Who will be the 2014 Disney Beer Tournament Champion?
Will it be the underdog who’s scrapped through each round of the tournament? The 9.8% ABV quadrupel from New York who would not quit? Or will it be the Florida native? The 7.5% ABV bomb of bitterness?
This poll will close Sunday, April 6, 2014 at 7:00 PM EDT/6:00 PM CDT. Vote for your 2014 Disney Beer Tournament champion now!
Here’s the full bracket for you:
Remember, this all ends Sunday, April 6, 2014 at 7:00 PM EDT/6:00 PM CDT! Vote before then or forever hold your peace (let’s be honest, we know you won’t do that)!
P.S. for those of you who are wondering, here are the voting results at 7:00 PM EDT/6:00 PM CDT Wednesday, April 2, 2014 when the polls closed (top two polls).
Keith
FWIW It looks like the championship vote has been hacked
Scott
Cigar City posted it on their Facebook and Twitter pages. Total number of votes are well under the number of visitors today.
Keith
Good idea for them, but kind of throws the bias level out of whack
John
I find it rather suspicious that the final four only had a total of 392 votes and Cigar City already has close to that number. Come on North East, get your votes in!!!!!
Scott
See the above comments.

Foul! Bad form I say!!!
Jo
If this is what Cigar City has to do to win, so be it. That’s the world today. Bad form.
Bob
bad losers! – Cigar City had nothing to do with the vote count or the vote total and Ommegang posted it on their Facebook and Twitter pages as well “Ommegang shared a link.” Bad form on you! relax and have a Jai Alai…
Scott
Bob, Cigar City’s social media posts had everything to do with the vote count and total. Page views for Friday (the day of the Cigar City social media posts) were the highest of the entire tournament.
The only Ommegang post I’m aware of was a Twitter post by @OmmegangDC (a Washington, DC based account), which is not the main Ommegang Twitter account (that would be @BreweryOmmegang). Posts from the main Ommegang accounts likely would have had a similar effect which would have made for a more interesting championship.
Personally, I disagree with the calls of “bad form” on both sides. We’re not restricting anyone here; anyone can vote and the tournament was all over social media. A brewery picking it up and running with it was unexpected, but it’s what happened.
