Einstök Icelandic Doppelbock

December 9th, 2014 by in Walt Disney World Beer Reviews

What’s this?  Jenn is actually posting a Disney beer review???  I know, I’m just about as shocked as all of you guys are.  I keep saying I need to post more on here (as I’m sure Scott is tired of hearing as well) but it’s true.

So anyways, while in Hollywood Studios two weeks ago, a friend and I decided to hop on in to 50’s Prime Time Cafe and see if we can get walk-up seating.  Ha, obviously you guys know how that went (big fail), but we then did the next best thing…walk into Tune In Lounge and wait for a few bar stools to open up.  After a few minutes of waiting and chatting, we quickly jumped into two recently vacated seats and grabbed a drink menu.

Thanks to the holidays, I noticed there was an additional holiday drink menu and the Einstok Doppelbock caught my eye.  Not to mention the viking wearing antlers and a bright red glowing nose might have stood out a bit too.

Not having many doppelbocks in the past, I wasn’t too sure what to expect.  Completely enjoyed this though!  It really does taste like Christmas, or the holidays, whichever you prefer.  Very clean and crisp, with a slight sweet undertone.  Maybe because the water they used comes from glaciers but it was refreshing too.  I could definitely taste some chocolate and caramel/toffee.  Really easy to drink for being a darker beer.

If you’re in the parks between now and the end of the holidays, I’d definitely recommend grabbing a bottle to try!
