Now that it’s after Thanksgiving, it’s really the Christmas season! Our tree is already up. But that’s not the only reason for this post; on with the beer! Named after one of the famous lines in the movie A Christmas Story, Yule Shoot Your Eye Out is Karbach Brewing Co.’s Christmas brew. A Christmas Story, however, is not really one of my favorite Christmas movies. This is more my cup of shugga’: Here’s “R’s” Christmas letter to Santa printed on the side [ Read More ]
The menus are out and the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival Beer List is updated (along with a brand new app). Let’s chat about what’s on the list. Last year I wrote a huge article detailing every beer at every location. This year I’m going to cut it down a bit and talk about the changes; a lot of the beers, especially at booths like Mexico and China, have the same exact boring selection. Plain and simple this is a great drinking Golden ale. This is not however a simple beer. Made with 4 malts on top of the base malt and 5 hops this complex flavored beer is well balanced and very refreshing. This seasonal beer is available every year from August to October. What makes a pils a Noble pils? No, it’s not beer royalty. According to Samuel Adams, it’s the inclusion of all five Noble hops into this one seasonal brew. This is one of the better pilsners I’ve had; it’s sweet at first and gives a bitter bite on the back end. A light citrus flavor comes with the bitter hops. I’m a bit surprised this beer is this good! Noble Pils can be found around the Walt Disney World resort [ Read More ]
Trying to stay away from the typical Bud and/or Miller in the American Adventure Pavilion, we went with the trusty Samuel Adams Seasonal, which was their Winter Lager. I’m a fan of beers that have a slight spice to them and enjoyed this one. Might actually like it better than their Oktoberfest! Paired it with some awesome funnel cake and it was perfect.
Pairing my Sam Adams Winter Lager with my frosty Vikings mug as I prepare to watch Monday Night Football. Go Falcons! I’m a Vikes fan, but an Atlanta local, so I’m rooting for the home team.
‘Tis the Season! I try to focus on the seasonal products put out in order to get a variety throughout the year. I’m looking forward to trying the other Winter or Holiday selections soon!
