Everyone’s favorite tournament involving Disney and beer is back!
The third edition of the Disney Beer Tournament starts today and will go on for the next few weeks. The first thing you’ll notice below is that we’re using a new polling system. Polar makes much nicer polls than the ones we’ve used in the past. This setup also cuts down on scrolling as there are four sets of polls instead of 32 separate polls. Each region has a set and once you select a beer, the set will automatically move to the next matchup.
Previous champions of the Disney Beer Tournament have been retired; last year’s champion was Unibroue La Fin du Monde and 2012’s champion was Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. All other beers on our Walt Disney World Beer List, Disneyland Resort Beer List, and Epcot Food and Wine Festival Beer List in 2013 were eligible for the tournament. From this set of over 280 beers we chose a field of 64 based on page and app views as well as past tournament performance and, let’s be honest, a little bit of subjectivity. Here’s the full bracket (click to enlarge).
The first round of the tournament will run until Wednesday, March 19 at 6:00 PM Central Daylight Time. Results from the first round will then be compiled and the second round will be posted the next morning (Thursday, March 20). Rounds will be posted on Mondays and Thursdays for the next few weeks until we crown a champion!
First up is this year’s Mickey region! Beers to watch include the incredibly popular Schöfferhofer Grapefruit as the number one overall seed, fourth seed Bear Republic Racer 5 IPA, the nine seed Stone Arrogant Bastard, tenth seed Unibroue Trois Pistoles, and the eleven seed Terrapin Hopsecutioner.

No fair pitting Dogfish 90 vs Trois Pistoles in the first round…. Great bracket!
Keith
Agree with Bob….that was a tough choice, but Trois Pistoles got the vote as it is my favorite Unibroue beer. Another tough choice was Dogfish 60 and Torpedo, both great beers IMO

Unless I missed it, where’s the hyperlink to vote? I can enlarge the brackets but that’s about it.
