Samuel Adams Chocolate Bock

Next beer in the winter sampler was the Chocolate Bock.
This one was different but I liked it! After my first sip, I immediately said it tasted exactly like Hershey’s Syrup. Pure chocolate flavor was pretty powerful. Smooth flavor until the end, slightly malty flavor. Started to get slightly too sweet for me towards the end though so I wouldn’t be able to drink multiple bottles. Perfect that it was in a sampler pack!

I know this is an older review, but I had some of this earlier today and I tasted ZERO chocolate in it. I basically got a bitter coffee flavor, are my taste buds broken, or do I just not know how to drink beer and get the full flavor of it?
The Beers and Ears Crew
Everyone tastes things differently. It could be that you need a more concentrated chocolate flavor to taste it. Also, if it was an older bottle the chocolate flavor could have faded. Drinking from a glass usually helps bring out flavors because our sense of smell also helps to taste.
