Lagunitas New Dogtown Pale Ale
February 6th, 2013 by Scott in Other Beer Reviews
You might have heard there was a little football game on Sunday, and although I wasn’t really interested in the outcome I went to a friend’s house to watch on his projector and about 100″ screen. We ate Raising Cane’s chicken fingers, drank, and were merry. It was a BYOB event, so I brought along a six pack of Lagunitas New Dogtown Pale Ale.
I don’t think I’ve ever been disappointed by a Lagunitas, and New Dogtown is no exception. It has a nice grapefruit and floral nose with a clear golden color. The taste is nice; grapefruit, pine, and a decent bitterness on the tongue that lingers for a while.
Of course, not long after the Beyoncé halftime show with the crazy cloning screens and face stage and whatever else, half the power in the Superdome went out. Being from New Orleans, I wasn’t surprised at all. I was at the Superdome for a Saints game against the 49ers when there was a fire in the rafters. Here’s Pat Summerall and John Madden with the call.
Of course, the ensuing 34 minute power outage at the Super Bowl meant hilarity on Twitter. Major brands got in on the action, especially Audi with this burn on Mercedes-Benz (who is the named sponsor on the Superdome).
Sending some LEDs to the @MBUSA Superdome right now…

If the 49ers win, the blackout is going to Disney World.

The best thing to come out of the power outage (besides hope for the 49ers) came the next day. For those of you who don’t follow LSU sports, LSUFreek creates hilarious animated GIFs.
During the blackout, reading Twitter and Facebook kept us more entertained than the first half of the football game, and Lagunitas New Dogtown Pale Ale kept me hydrated and happy.
