Lagunitas New Dogtown Pale Ale

IMG_0365

You might have heard there was a little football game on Sunday, and although I wasn’t really interested in the outcome I went to a friend’s house to watch on his projector and about 100″ screen. We ate Raising Cane’s chicken fingers, drank, and were merry. It was a BYOB event, so I brought along a six pack of Lagunitas New Dogtown Pale Ale. I don’t think I’ve ever been disappointed by a Lagunitas, and New Dogtown is no exception.  [ Read More ]

Lagunitas Little Sumpin’ Wild Ale

Can I have a Christmas do-over? I’ve gotten sick twice since the Wednesday before Christmas (the flu before Christmas and strep throat before the New Year) and have felt like crap for nearly my entire vacation so far. I am feeling better today though. Because of all the medication I’ve been on, I haven’t had a drink in at least two weeks or so. Also, since I was sick I didn’t go out New Year’s Eve. It was painful sitting  [ Read More ]

The Beer of Epcot International Food and Wine Festival 2012

IMG_9385

The menus are out and the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival Beer List is updated (along with a brand new app). Let’s chat about what’s on the list. Last year I wrote a huge article detailing every beer at every location. This year I’m going to cut it down a bit and talk about the changes; a lot of the beers, especially at booths like Mexico and China, have the same exact boring selection. The majority of Brewer’s Collection  [ Read More ]

Presenting the Walt Disney World Beer Tournament Champion!

IMG_3120

The last three weeks have been exciting around here as we held the first ever Walt Disney World Beer Tournament! Over 3,000 votes were cast as we went from 64 beers down to the champion! The final match pitted Stone Arrogant Bastard Ale against Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. As far as Walt Disney World is concerned, these two beers are very different. Arrogant Bastard is only served in one location, Raglan Road, while Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is found at  [ Read More ]

Orlando Brewing Certified Organic Beer Sampler at the Wave

TheWaveBeerTasting

Grabbed a quick lunch at the Wave in May and noticed that they had a beer sampler of 3 different 5oz samples of Orlando Brewing Organic Beer.  Who am I to argue with trying 3 beers instead of 1? The presentation was definitely nice, as seen in the photo.  Underneath each glass was a brief description of the beer above so you can keep track of what you’re trying.  I hate to say it but none of them were extremely  [ Read More ]

Summit Unchained Series #6 Gold Sovereign

Summit Brewing Unchained Series

Summit’s First brew to use 100% organic malt that was malted the old fashioned way: by hand on the floor. The recipe for this Pale Ale was inspired from Victorian era beer. There is definite hop forward flavor to this beer with a bready malt balancing the delicate fruit flavors of pear, apricot and spicy orange. If you ever wanted to know what beers tasted like a century ago, this should be your first choice in your tasting. With that  [ Read More ]

The pale ale offering from this Indiana brewer is quite tasty. Props to @jsabojr for providing the various Three Floyds beers tonight.

Kona Brewing Co. Fire Rock Pale Ale

Kona Brewing Co Fire Rock Pale Ale

When Scott posted his Kona Longboard review, I realized I never posted about my Kona Fire Rock. Found this at a bar in NYC and knew I had to try it since I’ve seen it at the menu at the Polynesian. It’s a beautiful copper/orange color and slightly sweet. Slightly hoppy with a hint of citrus in there somewhere. I definitely could have had a few more of these but there were just SO many different beers on the menu  [ Read More ]
